SUBVERSION OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION

I. Questions for Catholic Parents in Parramatta

If you knew that a certain man was a heretic, would you allow him any involvement in your child's religious education? This is the issue confronting parents in the Diocese of Parramatta where its Catholic Education Office adopts the errors and the defective teaching methods of American 'educationalist', Thomas H Groome. more

II. Thomas H Groome, A Modernist Heretic

In 2002 Sydney schoolteacher, Mr Eamonn Keane, subjected the catechetical works of American professor of theology and religious education, Thomas H Groome, to critical analysis. He had good reason to do so. Groome's catechetical method was being used in Catholic schools in a number of Australian dioceses with catastrophic effects. Groome has now responded to Keane's criticisms on the Boston College website. This is an analysis of his 'response'. more

III. A Modernist Case Study--Thomas H Groome

This is the second, and final, part of the analysis of the 'response' by Thomas H Groome on the Boston College website to the criticism of his theology and catechetical method by Mr Eamonn Keane of Sydney in his 'A Generation Betrayed' (Hatherleigh Press, NY, 2002). It completes our case study of Groome as a Modernist heretic. more
